Hendy news

Pontarddulais Walking Club

Conspicuous by their absence last week were the Plasgwyn Road contingent of the group, lets hope they all make a speedy recovery and are back soon trekking with the group, fellow members of the walking group would like to thank Mr Huw Miles for leading the trek to Fferryside and Llansaint. There were splendid views witnessed by members of the Tywi, Taf, Gwendraeth Fawr and Fach estuaries. The North Wales trip has now been finalised and club secretary Alan Richards is now taking names for the trip.

Quiz night

Hendy RFC Quiz team are back to winning ways with a splendid win over Tycroes RFC. Captain Neil Lewis were delighted by the teams performance and restored Geraint Owain Price back into the side alongside Spike Thomas, Dave Halsall and Peter Davies. Fine displays by Peter Davies and Spike ensured a good score in the Soaps and Entertainment rounds. The Red Cow,Llandybie and Llandybie Social Club are their next opponents.

Community Council

In last weeks column in the paper there was a typing error which was missleading, puctuation had been missing and was edited before going to print and the article read differently once altered,

Ierian James an officer working for the county council came to the pool committee meeting, to discuss drawing up a plan of the design of the regeneration of the park. In the column last week it stated that the community council would be drawing up the plan, this is incorrect,
Ierian James was going to produce it to the community council for them to make any comments and then produce it to the pool committee a week later,
the community council will be meeting on wednesday 4th February and the pool committee would be meeting on the tuesday 10th February,
interested parties that took part in the feasibility study would be welcome to attend the pool meeting to view and to discuss the proposed design of the plan.
