Llanedi Community Council
The precept for Llanedi Community Council has now issued for the forthcoming financial year. The amount precepted is £90,500 and this means that the charge per D Band property will remain at £44.51as in the current year. Llanedi Community Council has, in fact, now succeeded in maintaining this charge at virtually the same level for four successive years. 2006-2007 it was £88,675 giving a £45.17 charge, in 2007-2008 it was £90,000, £45.18 charge and in 2008-2009 it remained at £90,000 giving £44.51.
Local Surgeries
Councillor Steve Lloyd-Janes will be holding his regular monthly surgery the last Saturday of the month in Arlan Gwili Saturday 28th February at 9am till 10am, Steve will also be attending a surgery with Nia Griffith MP on Friday 27th February in Llangennech rugby club between 4.30pm and 5.30pm
Llanelli District Guide Dogs Association
Llanelli and District Guide Dogs are celebrating their 25th Anniversary this year. They are organising a celebration day in Peoples park Llanelli on 6 June 09. It will be to be a day to remember and they are asking for anyone who would like a stall at this special event to contact them as soon as possible. Stalls start from £10 for a charity organisation with every penny helping the association raise money for this association.
They are also arranging a sponsored walk during the afternoon to raise funds for Guide Dogs and invite you to take part. The walk will follow the path around peoples Park and Old Castle Lake. It will be a walk for all ages and all abilities and you are invited to bring along your own dog although this is optional
If you have a group organisatin or would like to know more about the guide dog association they also organise interesting talks.

NOSON LAWEN
Hendy aelwyd will hold it's annual Noson Lawen on the 28th February at the Pontarddulais comprehensive school hall. Artists will include the popular folk singer Dafydd Iwan a'r band, the country and western duo -Iona ac Andy, with the comedienne -Gillian Elisa, and local choir Cor Waunarlwydd. Tickets are just £8 and the concert will begin at 7.00. Proceeds to the aelwyd. This promises to be one of the best yet. Carnival Committee
There is a meeting of the Carnival Committee on Thursday 26th February 2009 at 7.30pm in Pontarddulais Rugby Club, new members would be welcomed as volunteers to help organise or to help on the day of the carnival to raise money for the committee and the community will always be welcomed
Age Concern
The next age concern meeting will be at Arlan Gwili on Monday Evening at 6.30pm on the 9th March at Arlan Gwili
Hendy Pool Meeting
The next Pool meeting will be held on Tuesday 24th February 2009 in Arlan Gwili at 7pm, this will be an important meeting as the amended plans for the regeneration will be available for view and discussion
