Welcome to my online diary, enjoy your stay!
In November 2005 whilst home recovering from an operation I decided to try and design a web page for White Springs Fisheries in Pontarddulais I soon started adding info on the fishery website page of my community activities, but as I got more and more involved in community projects, I decided to start this blog in order to keep my community activities and involvement seperate to the fishing. You can email me with comments at slloydjanes@aol.com

First of all this is not a wind up even though its April Fools Day? But I sometimes wonder do County Council Officers treat people as fools?
Last year a resident came to one of my surgeries complaining about youngsters playing football in the streets, they had witnessed a ball hitting a parked car causing a dent in a panel on the vehicle from the force that the ball had hit the vehicle, I tried raising the question about how to get a no ball games allowed sign, and after lots of enquiries and about five months of waiting I had an answer that the county doesn't have a policy that allows for such a sign.
Anyway the same issue has been raised at one of my monthly surgeries in another location in the village, I advised the resident that the county had adviced that they don't have a policy on putting up any such signs, but that I could help them if they attended a brand new community policing team

Which was having its first meeting the following week, two residents attended and basically stated the same reasons as the previous resident had last year, a ball had been kicked at a parked car and damaged a number plate of the car, the police agreed that they would patrol the area a bit more and that they would speak to the youngsters and that they would write to the county asking about signs?
In the mean time i had raised the query again only to be told we don't have a policy of placing any such signs up.
So you can imaging my shock this week when out leaflet dropping in another ward in the county for the local MP Nia Griffith,
I came across a sign
Now who do they think they are trying to fool?
Obviously I have brought it to their attention that I have found a sign with the Carmarthenshire logo on and I'asked so how come you reckon the county don't make or have a policy to put such signs up mmmmmmmmmm
