Llanelli District Guide Dogs Association
Llanelli and District Guide Dogs are celebrating their 25th Anniversary this year. They are organising a celebration day in Peoples park Llanelli on 6 June 09. It will be to be a day to remember and they are asking for anyone who would like a stall at this special event to contact them as soon as possible. Stalls start from £10 for a charity organisation with every penny helping the association raise money for this association.
They are also arranging a sponsored walk during the afternoon to raise funds for Guide Dogs and invite you to take part. The walk will follow the path around peoples Park and Old Castle Lake. It will be a walk for all ages and all abilities and you are invited to bring along your own dog although this is optional

Community Policing Team
The second community police meeting where residents can share concerns with the community with police and councillors was held on Monday, the meeting is held the first Monday of every month at Llangennech Community Hall between 6pm and 7pm, if you have a police issue and missed this months meeting or didn't want to speak in a public meeting, members of the public can always fill out a note or letter and post them to myself or the police team and post them in one of the police community boxes which can be found in one of the local post offices.

Hendy Eisteddfod
Make a note in your diary in six weeks time the Aelwyd Eisteddfod will be held this annual Eisteddfod which is organised by the Hendy aelwyd committee will be held at Hendy Primary school hall on Saturday May 9th. The first competitions will be for local children under 12 , followed by the open competitions up to the champion solo and recitation.
Highlights include the chairing of the bard ceremony and the choral competition.
Come along and enjoy a day at the Eisteddfod.

Hendy Pool Committee
There is a pool meeting Tuesday 7th April in the Arlan Gwili Complex, preparation of the AGM and public exhibition, where plans for the regeneration on display, will be the main item on the agenda, a date for this event will be notified closer to the date.
Only Girls Aloud
A group of ladies are forming a new group, it will be a comedy ladies band and they are going to be raising money for local charities, the group are hoping to hold a performance during the carnival in June, if you want to help this group then please ring 07985610169 or 07790520390
Carnival Committee
This year the comittee will be picking the Carnival Queen by entry with a photo, The competition is open to Girls 11 - 16 at Comprehensive School. To enter, please send a photograph, together with your name, address, age and telephone number to. Mrs. E. Evans, 18 Alltiago Rd.Pontarddulais, Swansea, SA4 8HU. The closing date for entries is Friday 15th May, 2009 - Note the winner must be available on carnival day Saturday 27th June, 2009 and must be either resident in the
Pontarddulais, Hendy and District or at school in Pontarddulais. The winner will receive a prize of £20. Two attendants will receive £10 each. The carnival has become a very busy week with events on every every day throughout the full week before the carnival plus lots of the usual competitions that individuals and schools can participate in, over the coming weeks details of all the events for the week will be published.
