Welcome to my online diary, enjoy your stay!
In November 2005 whilst home recovering from an operation I decided to try and design a web page for White Springs Fisheries in Pontarddulais I added an info page on the fishery website page, but as I got more and more involved in community projects, I decided to start this blog in order to keep my community activities and involvement seperate to the fishing. You can email me with comments at slloydjanes@aol.com

| POOL BETTER OFF OPEN |
09:00 - 19 July 2007 |
| Surely vandalism at Hendy pool would be likely to decrease if the lido there was repaired by the council and returned to the local community.I have spent the past five years campaigning for Broomhill Pool in Ipswich (a 1938 lido) and, unsurprisingly, vandalism has increased during the time the pool has been shut. When it was open, children could use their energies in a positive way, by spending all day there sometimes, jumping off the top board, buying a few chips from the cafe, and so on. The website is http://www.savebroomhillpool.org/ if people would like to see photos of how the pool used to look. There is also a four-minute film on YouTube called The Pool, showing how the kids used to enjoy it. I hope Carmarthenshire Council will review its policy towards outdoor pools and make Hendy Lido a local attraction once more. Sally Wainman Hatfield Road, Ipswich |
