Welcome to my online diary, enjoy your stay!
In November 2005 whilst home recovering from an operation I decided to try and design a web page for White Springs Fisheries in Pontarddulais I added an info page on the fishery website page, but as I got more and more involved in community projects, I decided to start this blog in order to keep my community activities and involvement seperate to the fishing. You can email me with comments at slloydjanes@aol.com

Traffic Issues
After the traffic calming scheme introduced by the county, there have been a number of meetings about safety issues regarding buses and bus stops, last week the highways officer John Mcenvoy arranged with the bus company First Cymru to come to a site meeting with Nia Griffith MP and local residents, there were three locations to discuss, the first was the junction of Harleyford Road, under the traffic scheme, the junction was extended outwards into the main road with islands added outside the undertakers to improve visability, with the halt sign now past the pavement as the bus company were approaching the bus stop, their near side wheels are crossing over the halt sign as they approach the pavement and some near misses with vehicles on harlyeford road have occured, it was decided to extend the pavement into the white hashed no parking zone, so that buses do not cut drivers up as they approach the junction, the second bus stop issue was near the new mini roundabout by the rugby club, when this was installed the well used bus stop that served the oap complex was removed and never replaced, the bus company agreed to replace the bus stop by sighting it in the parking bay outside the rugby club, the third bus stop that was visited was opposite the old doctors surgery, there is a bus stop sign post on the church side of the road which clearly states bus stop both sides of the road, but some drivers are refusing to stop to pick passengers up and on several occassions, they have taken passengers to the harleyford road junction before stopping, the operations manager assured residents that drivers are aware of the stop and if these incidents continue, he would like it reported on the day it happens, so that the company could deal with the driver on duty.
