Welcome to Cllr Steve Lloyd-janes Blog
I have been an elected councillor for Hendy since 2004, the first term as a community councillor and since 2008 as the Elected ward member for Hendy on Carmarthen County Council
I grew up in Pontarddulais and my parents own White Springs Fisheries in Pontarddulais ,
I decided to start this blog in order to keep members of the community upto date with my activities and my weekly Hendy News column which gets published weekly in the Llanelli Star

I am involved in the Llanelli CAB
I was also elected onto the Mid and West Wales Fire Authority in May 2009
I am also a member of the Pontarddulais and Hendy District Carnival Committee. Which celebrated its 40th year in JUNE 2008.
I have been a member of USDAW since 1989 and I am the Llanelli Usdaw Union Branch Secretary,
I have done a lot of campaigning with Usdaw and I often appear in the quarterly magazine that gets published and sent to Usdaw Members, here's just one example page 7 photo outside Tesco's Carmarthen
I sit on several scrutiny committees for Carmarthen County Council the main ones are here
I am also a welsh learner, having started lessons one evening a week in September 2009 the course is being run in Stradey School.

THE PREMIER ANGLING TIMES
“WORLD CUP”
Hi all White Springs which is owned by my father is part of the premier fisheries group, basically for non fishing enthusiasts its a group of top uk fisheries who meet about four times a year to promote the sport of fishing by agreeing to enter competitions amongst themselves and working together to promote fishing in a positive way.
They hold successful youth competitions with each fishery sending representatives to a grand final, well hot off the press next year the group will be embarking to find anglers from all over the uk to fish a final, to find and send anglers to the world championships in 2009
The deatails of how it will look like will be published to the premier web site early next year, but here's what it will look like
THERE WILL BE TWO CATEGORIES TAKING PART IN THIS COMPETITION.
CAT 1. CLUBS FROM ALL OVER THE
CAT 2. OPEN MATCH ANGLERS WHO TAKE PART IN AN OPEN MATCHES ON PREMIER FISHERIES.
HOW IT WORKS-
CAT 1. ALL QUALIFYING ROUNDS TO BE HELD ON YOUR
CAT 2. OPEN MATCH MEN- YOU MUST HAVE FISHED IN AT LEAST 10 OPEN MATCHES ON A PREMIER FISHERY FROM THE TIME OF ENTERING THE COMPETITION. THE TOP TEN WEIGHTS FROM EACH PREMIER FISHERY GO THROUGH TO THE SEMI FINALS.
WHAT IT COSTS- ONE PAYMENT OF £10 PER ANGLER.
THE SEMI FINALS-
THERE WILL BE 16 SEMI FINALS FISHED WITH IN 5 REGIONS - NORTH WEST - NORTH EAST - WEST MIDLANDS -
THE GRAND FINAL-
THE TOP WEIGHT FROM EACH SEMI FINAL WILL QUALIFY FOR THE FINAL, THAT’S A TOTAL OF 16 ANGLERS (MAXIMUM) TAKING PART IN THE FINAL ON ARENA LAKE (CUDMORE) AND THE WINNER WILL GO ON TO REPRESENT THE UK IN THE “WORLD CUP”
