Further to last nights entry here's today's activities and there were no Plaid Councillors to be seen yet again?
There was a police meeting today in Arlan Gwili where 3 local labour councillors turned up to represent Hendy.
Well today was a first for the community policing team, due to a technical error, 5 local people turned up, this came about because at the last meeting there was an action plan for the police to communicate to the press about all the good work they are doing to tackle anti sociable behavior.
I had done this by reporting about the joint operation, that had been planned at the previous meeting last month, see my previous blog entry
The press had published todays meeting, as a public meeting, after the police had update them on action plans that had taken place else where in the Llwynhendy Police area,
The press article had nothing to do with me

the minutes of the last meeting state venue and date to be arranged, because this meeting is held in a different community every month. Over the last twelve months I had only seen WIB James attend one of these meetings, when it was last held in Hendy.
Anyway Inspector Bailey decided to allow the public of Hendy, 15 minutes to hear their views and then kindly asked them to leave after they had had approx 20 minutes of the meetings time.
The reason that the meeting is private and restricted to councillors rather than public, is because the team meeting involves lots of other outside bodies and sometimes confidential details are discussed, an example of todays was that a tenant who has caused some anti sociable behaviour (not in Hendy I add), is about to recieve an eviction notice and the police agreed to support the housing department on this matter later in the month,
Nobody wants to see people evicted but if all other avenues are extensively exhausted sometimes eviction is the only answer, to improve the lives of victims that the anti-sociable behaviour has effected.
Before the meeting kicked off residents asked Bill Vonk, Vernon Hicks and myself,
"where's all of the other Hendy councillors" indicating plaid cymru, not one Hendy Plaid Cymru Councillor had turned up, and to be honest there's no excuse because if the general public could make an effort to turn up, where were they?
Its my understanding if councillors miss meetings continuosly then they are dropped off the invite list.
I hope the voters remember this when it comes to voting next month. Llanedi community council has had a minimum of one labour councillor at every meeting, no matter what village or community the meeting has been held in.
The Plaid County Council Candidate also never turned up....... and again, it was public knowledge that there was going to be a PACT meeting, and they could have made an effort to turn up, just like the five members of the general public had done?
Below is a copy of last months attendees just give you an idea of who attends, Normally all four of the Labour Hendy Community Councillors turn up to every meeting.
Cllrs Bill and Lynne Vonk had missed last month because they were in Australia, and Vernon Hicks was babysitting his grandson, their appologies were given but missed out

Whilst the meeting is confidential with Police Priorities and Action Plans agreed, with those present at the meeting,
What came out of this meeting.... (that is not confidential)..... is that the Scarlets are going to coach the Police and members of the public (who want to help the community) how to become tag rugby coaches.
and after the coaching has been done there will be a local tournament for youngsters in the Llwynhendy Police Station patch and Hendy's own Calfyn Evans and Dai Tom have agreed to do the coaching training with the Police and the Scarlets team in the near future.
I understand the tournament will probably be made up in the format of "5 a side" with youngsters from each village within the llwynhendy police catchment area. Further updates will be made available as learnt as planning of this event is still ongoing?
Here's one last thought not only did the Plaid Councillors and the Plaid County Candidate, not show up at todays meeting, but the Plaid County Council candidate has choosen not to stand for the Hendy Ward of the Community Council,
However she has been nominated for the Llangennech Community Council,
check out page 18 llangennech community council
If elected as a Hendy Councillor, It will mean Llangennech will gain another County Councillor at Hendy's expense, because under rules she won't be allowed to participate in the Llanedi Community Council, as she hasn't been nominated to stand on its Community Council
If they can't participate, then the Community Council won't be able to ask or share information with them easily, when they hold their monthly meetings and we will have to wait for the clerk to write about any new queries or issues raised during a council meeting.
So please use your Vote and come out to Vote for Labour on May 1st,
